City Park Master Plan

Over the past two years the Parks and Recreation Committee has been developing a 10-year Master Plan for the City Park.  We have been assisted by City staff and by Landscape Architectural Services, LLC, a consultant to the Committee.

The Committee met on September 19, 2017 and unanimously recommend the adoption of the 10-year Master Plan.  The planning process included goal setting, community input through a variety of methods, developing a community profile, conducting an existing site/facility assessment, and establishing a park development plan that creates zones for similar purposed recreational activities and prioritizes projects.

We have incorporated stake holder input from both residents and visitors, the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee, Salisbury Skatepark Committee, Bike SBY, Wicomico Middle School, Mid Delmarva Disc Golf Alliance, Splashbury Committee, and Wicomico County Recreation, Parks, and Tourism.

Some of the larger components of the Master Plan include a disc golf course, a splash park, bandstand brick patio/retaining walls, and a sand volleyball court, in addition to smaller improvements.
